GRACE

Grace, in the Scriptures, is unearned, undeserved favor as a gift from God, starting primarily as salvation offered by grace to the lost sinner (all of mankind).
We ALL need mercy before God……and yet not one of us deserves it. The old saying is that “MERCY is NOT getting what we DO deserve……..GRACE is GETTING what we do NOT deserve.”
The word GRACE appears 159 times in thirty six different books of the Bible, the first being spoken of with Noah, where he found grace:
(Genesis 6:8)
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
The last usage in the Bible of the word GRACE comes at the very end, in Revelation
22:21:
(Revelation 22:21)
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Here God still stretches out His Hand of grace towards all of mankind, even during the Day of the LORD.
Grace is only offered by God; it is never forced upon us. We, for our part,
must accept God’s Divine Grace in order to be saved-in other words, salvation
is not automatic or universal, as God does not want robots, but rather creatures
with free will to love Him back.
(1 John 4:19)
We love him, because he first loved us.
GRACE also appears to be something very visible, as it is often associated with being “in someone’s sight” throughout Scripture. In fact, the first twenty seven times the word GRACE is used in the Bible, it is connected with being found in someone’s eyes, in someone’s sight.
GRACE is visibly offered and then, received through faith. It is always free.
The four times grace is used in the Gospels, it is used of Jesus Christ Himself, as
  • Something He grew into (Luke 2:10)
  • Something, along with truth, He was filled with (John 1:14)
  • Something Jesus offered (John 1:17)
  • Something we received (John 1:16)
(Luke 2:40)
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
(John 1:14)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
(John 1:14)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
(John 1:16)
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
(John 1:17)
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Imagine you wake up one day to a knocking sound and, when you open the front
door, you see a package-a postage paid gift, neatly wrapped.  You
know who left it but you have only heard of this person, but have never met
them.  You
bring the package in, leave it on the counter and do nothing more, because
what everyone has told you about the giver is not good, nor his associates.
You never open the package.  The contents?  One hundred trillion
trillion trillion
trillion trillion
trillion dollars. Now imagine you die without ever opening it and live
as either royalty on earth, priveleged, successful-or even a pauper.
Eternal life, salvation from a hell that surely awaits is much more precious
than that trillions of dollars, and infinitely so.  That is what is offered
to you as grace through faith:
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The GRACE GOd offers comes only through the LORD Jesus Christ,
  • Who is the
    Creator of the entire Universe
  • Who was foretold thousands of years with very specific, humanly impossible
    prophecies
  • Who was born of a virgin
  • Who lived a sinless life
  • Who died on the Cross for your sins
  • Who was buried in a borrowed grave
  • Who rose from the dead three days later
  • Who is coming back to get His children very soon
CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE
(John 1:3)
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was
made.
FORETOLD
(Genesis 3:15)
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and
her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
(Isaiah 7:14)
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive,
and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
BORN OF A VIRGIN
(Matthew 1:23)
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they
shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
LIVED A SINLESS LIFE
(John 8:46)
Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe
me?
(Luke 23:4)
Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in
this man.
(Luke 23:14)
Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the
people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault
in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:
DIED ON THE CROSS FOR YOUR SINS
(Matthew 27:35)
And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might
be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among
them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
(Matthew 27:38)
Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and
another on the left.
(1 Peter 3:18)
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that
he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened
by the Spirit:
WHO WAS BURIED IN A BORROWED GRAVE
Matthew 27:57-60
When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph,
who also himself was Jesus’ disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the
body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he
rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
WHO ROSE FROM THE DEAD THREE DAYS LATER
Luke 24:6-8
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
And they remembered his words,
